The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at highway speeds, the Forward Collision-Avoidance System erroneously activated causing the vehicle to abruptly stop in the middle of the highway. During the failure, there were no other vehicles or objects nearby to cause the system to activate. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.
