My 16 year old was driving home with other 3 younger children and the vehicle just stopped driving while they were on the interstate.  Thankfully he handled the situation well and was able to coast to the shoulder safely.  At only 16 and a new driver, things could have gone very badly. I never dreamed my children would be in such a dangerous situation in my brand new vehicle.  The vehicle would not do anything.  I could not even lock the doors.  It had to be drug onto a wrecker truck because everything was locked up.  It was this incident that I learned about the recall.  We had no vehicle for 4 days but the problem was “fixed”.    Then a month later I was driving on the interstate and the vehicle just stopped driving again!  It again completely locked up and nothing worked and had to be drug onto a wrecker.  I went another few days with no vehicle and the dealership said they could not find anything.  They suggested that I not let the gas go below 100 miles to empty that they thought the angle of the fuel line or something might be the issue.  It’s scary driving knowing it could stop at any moment with no warning.  I live in Louisiana and I drive the causeway often.  It’s the longest bridge over a body of water in the world.  No shoulders, no way off. Just 24 miles over a lake.  I’m scared to death every time I get on it.  And after the last incident my HUD and some other electrical things are no longer working.
