The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed in inclement weather, there was a lightning strike in close proximity, causing the vehicle to lose motive power. The vehicle inadvertently rebooted and the contact was able to park the vehicle next to a residential garage; however, after turning off the vehicle, the vehicle was unable to be restarted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that a battery pack had short-circuited and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the lightning strike was not related to the failure.
