The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would hesitate upon depression of the accelerator pedal, and the check engine warning light would illuminate. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed with an EVAP system leak; however, the origin of the leak could not be determined. The contact stated that the vehicle later failed to start, and both the check engine and auto Start/Stop warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with a defective fuel pump, and the fuel pump was replaced; however, the failure recurred a month later. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start after multiple attempts. The contact left the vehicle and returned to the vehicle the following day. The contact managed to drive the vehicle to the residence. The vehicle was then taken back to the dealer, where an unknown repair was performed; however, the failure recurred two days later. The contact later received a recall notice for NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V586000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The dealer was notified of the failure but refused to acknowledge the recall. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The vehicle was not repaired.
