While parked on an incline, the driver depressed the brake pedal and pressed the Engine Start/Stop button while the vehicle was still positioned in Drive (D). The engine shut off completely. According to factory safety design and vehicle specifications, cutting the ignition in this state is engineered to automatically trigger an electronic command to shift the transmission into Park (P). However, the vehicle failed to execute this electronic fail-safe. The electronic parking pawl did not engage, and the vehicle effectively defaulted into an un-geared Neutral state. Upon the driver releasing the brake pedal, the unanchored vehicle immediately rolled down the incline with the engine completely powered off. No audible warning chimes or dashboard fault lights were activated prior to or during the event to alert the driver that the transmission had failed to secure the vehicle.","products":[{"type":"Vehicle","productYear":"2024","productMake":"HYUNDAI","productModel":"TUCSON","manufacturer":"Hyundai Motor America"}]}]}
