Engine Seizure

engine, oil drain plug

The oil drain plug fell out of the vehicle, causing all oil to spatter underneath and behind the Jeep within minutes. The oil warning lamp activated, and shortly after, the engine seized. The vehicle entered a protection mode limiting speed. A service technician confirmed there was oil everywhere and no oil plug present. The owner suspects the dealership, which last performed an oil change, failed to properly secure the drain plug. A slow oil leak had been noticed in the driveway prior to the incident.
