Shortly after purchase, a clicking noise developed behind the steering wheel during parking maneuvers. Over several months the clicking became louder and more frequent. The steering stopped returning to center and became noticeably hard to turn. A dealership inspection found a leak causing the steering rack to bind. The issue was repaired under factory warranty.

The steering became harder to turn and would not return to center after cornering. The steering wheel remained in the turned position while driving, which the owner considered a safety hazard at highway speeds. A Chevrolet dealership diagnosed the rack and pinion steering as faulty and requiring replacement, including realignment.
