SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260917-38489-2147309731. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Product: Anker A1651 (Wall charger by anker). Incident: I am reporting an incident involving an Anker portable battery, model A1651. I was using the battery normally when it suddenly exploded without warning. Prior to the incident, there were no signs that I was aware of indicating that the battery was going to fail. The battery had not been exposed to water or water damage, and there was no known misuse or unusual circumstance that would explain what happened. When the battery failed, it ruptured/exploded and created a potentially serious fire and injury hazard. The incident occurred during normal use and was completely unexpected. This is especially concerning because two other Anker portable batteries owned by members of my immediate family have failed in the same manner. My mother had one that unexpectedly exploded, and my husband also had one that unexpectedly exploded. To the best of my knowledge, neither of those batteries had water damage or had been misused. I previously contacted Anker regarding the incidents involving my mother's and husband's battery. I didn't contact anker on this one cuz last time they gave me a hard time cuz it was out of the warranty period.
