SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260421-41CFC-2147320276. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Apple A2483 (iPhone 13 Pro 128gb Gold.). Incident: Last Monday (April 13th 2026) My iPhone 13 Pro began to glitch. I had charged it to 100% battery and then it randomly shut off. I turned it back on and it said 10% battery. It then shut off again when I tried to use it. I plugged it in, and when it turned back on it became 73% battery. I was very confused, so I checked my battery health, and sure enough it was no longer 80%, but it had lowered down to 77% battery health. Over the week, my phone will not stay on unless its charging. I kept checking my battery health once a day and each day I checked, it had lowered another 1%. It went from 77% battery health, to 76% and now 75%. Last wednesday I took my case off to check my battery and sure enough, it was swelling. My battery was pushing my screen out of the frame. It has gotten much worse over the past few days. I went to the apple store in [REDACTED] and asked to speak to a manager, to which the employee blew me off and registered me for a Genius bar. I waited over half an hour with no help. After the technician came, he ran some tests on my phone and concluded that the swelling was normal and due to the old age of the battery. He also told me that a swelling battery is not dangerous, and that if i were to pop the battery nothing would happen, it would only release carbon dioxide. This is dangerous and false information. He also told me that even though the back glass was broken and the battery was swollen, they would be able to replace my battery for the $89 fee but the back glass would probably be ruined. I was very upset and I contacted apple support. I spoke to a senio
