Nest, Google Nest, Nest Hello Nest Hello (wired)

Product: Nest, Google Nest, Nest Hello Nest Hello (wired) (Google / Nest Hello (wired) video doorbell. Model Nest Hello (wired) UPC 813917020944). Incident: I purchased a Nest Hello video doorbell approximately 3 years ago. This summer, it started rebooting when the button was pressed and not ringing the doorbell. After searching on-line, I found out there is a lithium ion battery in it that is not documented. It's sealed in to the product with heavy tape, and not able to be inspected. Google, Nest is one of their product lines, will not repair a Nest doorbell when it is out of warranty. Since the product was not repairable by Google, I ordered a new battery from a reputable supplier, and opened the doorbell. The battery in it was not only defective, but was swollen, like the ones about to catch fire. I saved the battery in a safe place (bucket of sand, outside.) Not having a way to inspect a potentially hazardous battery either physically, or via software and not notifying customers of this dangerous situation is the core of my complaint. In the event of a fire, the doorbell is physically attached to the outside of a house, with low voltage wires penetrating the wall to the inside of the building. This could lead to an extremely hazardous situation for the customer since smoke detectors would not detect the initial onset of fire. Customers might also not be able to address this situation because of: 1: Not being aware there is a dangerous battery in the product. 2: Not being able to see the problem since the battery is sealed inside the product. 3: Not being notified via software that there is a problem with the battery. 4: Google will not repair the Nest Hello doorbell when it is out of warranty.
