SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20180310-76BD2-2147389406. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Pro Charging Systems Eagle series battery charger Pro Charging System's Eagle Performance series 48 Volt 15 AM (Pro Charging System's Eagle Performance series 48 Volt 15 AMP for [REDACTED] golf carts Charger (Product # I4815YM619)). Incident: In Jan 2017 I purchased a brand new Pro Charging System's Eagle Performance series 48 Volt 15 AMP [REDACTED] golf cart Charger (Product # I4815YM619) (serial# 2016PCS3191081) for my six (6) new [REDACTED] batteries. From May 29th 2017 to July 12th 2017 while on vacation this new Eagle Performance series charger failed to properly shut off and seriously overcharged and damaged my new batteries to the point that all 24 cells in these six (6) batteries had overheated and boiled completely dry. Upon returning home I discovered these batteries were so hot from being overcharged I was afraid they would explode at any minute. If we had not returned from our vacation when we did and stopped the charging of these batteries they would have no doubt have reached the point of exploding and causing a fire in my home. This charger's failure to properly shut down after a charging cycle is a serious safety issue, Golf cart battery chargers are suppose to turn off after completing a charging cycle not continuous charge as this brand/model did. [REDACTED] golf carts do NOT have an on-board computer to control the charging cycles like [REDACTED] golf carts and must depend on the charger's abilities to accurately charge your batteries. The manufacturer flat refuses to test this charger under the same type of conditions (40+ days), with the same equipment ( a [REDACTED] golf cart) and refuses to accept any safety concern for the consumers while using this model charger. Even when they were informed by one of their dealerships that this charger was in fact malfunctioning, they refuse to accept r
