SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260826-A0490-2147311898. Severity: No Incident, No Injury. Product: Wyssay XLD-75W01A (Wyssay 75W 6-Port USB desktop charging station/power adapter with USB-C Power Delivery (PD) fast charging, Quick Charge 3.0 (QC), four USB ports, and a wireless charging pad. Black plastic desktop charging station designed to charge smartphones and other USB-powered devices. Model XLD-75W01A.). Incident: I was using a Wyssay 75W USB Power Adapter/desktop charging station, model XLD-75W01A, purchased through Amazon. The charging station was plugged into an electrical outlet on my bedside table and had been in regular use for approximately two years without any previous problems. During the night, my [REDACTED] was connected to the USB-C/PD fast-charging port using a charging cable. My phone's battery had been completely depleted when I connected it, and it had been charging for several hours. I woke during the night and noticed a strong electrical/burning smell. My husband and I initially could not determine where the smell was coming from and walked through the house trying to locate the source. I eventually determined that the smell was coming from the charging station beside the bed. Upon inspection, the USB-C/PD charging port had severely overheated. The interior of the port and surrounding material had melted and charred, and the connector on the charging cable was also heat-damaged. I immediately disconnected the charging station and have not used it since. There were no injuries and, fortunately, the incident was discovered before a fire occurred. I am reporting this because I am concerned that the degree of overheating and melting presents a potential fire hazard, particularly because this type of charging station may be used overnight or while unattended. I have photographs showing the damaged charging port, damaged cable, and the manufacturer's label on the unit.
