Newly installed Generac Guardian 18kW passed initial tests, then stopped after about two minutes on a weekly maintenance run with an under-voltage error while unloaded. A technician found the stator, rotor, casing, and crankshaft shattered. Dealer, tech, and Generac agreed it was likely a manufacturing defect, but the dealer would only order parts rather than a new unit.
