After error messages in Dec 2025 and resets, on 4–5 April 2026 the Jackery 5000 Plus got hot, smoked while charging, melted the charging cord, then melted and dropped the charging outlet plug (~$2,900 unit). Jackery said no warranty because purchased from a non-Jackery retailer, then delayed repair quotes saying the model was too new for them to diagnose.
