Metal Cookware (Nonelectric) (460)

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 16, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — SaferProducts.gov incident

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20190211-AB33F-2147382774. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Chef's Mark Chef's Mark (Pots of different size, skillets same, and lids for both sizes of each.). Incident: Products are being used in kitchen to prepare breakfast, lunch and dinners. Major safety concerns are (1) lids do not fit the pots or skillets, when cooking grease bubbles over the edge of the too small lids and grease comes over the edge of the skillet towards the burner. (2) pots and smaller skillet are "handle heavy and tip the pot or skillet to sit unevenly on burner. (3) handles on lids are metal with a rubber time piece slipped over the metal, problem is the metal gets very hot and the rubber piece does not cover properly to place fingers to remove lid for food adjustment and or removal. If a child was to try and "help Mom or Dad cook" this could lead to a dropped lid, splashed cooking oil and burned fingers for the child. I received this set of cooking ware at Christmas, Name of Mfg:Chef's Mark Made in China and distributed country wide. I have not contacted the Mfg or the company it was purchased from. I find this product extremely unsafe with a potential to burn anyone using this product and potentially a fire hazard. Let me know who I talk to next.
