SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20190809-3A504-1894240. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Honeywell 0064420 (Honeywell Gas Generator - Serial #8613816). Incident: I have a natural gas generator outside my home. On 7/23/19, at 5:00 AM, the carbon detector in my home went off. Although it is only a few months old, I nevertheless thought it might be the batteries which I changed. It continued to ring after that so I called 911. The Fire Department responded and their gauges indicated there was carbon monoxide throughout the house, heaviest in the garage. They brought in huge fans, opened doors and windows, and aired out the house. I did not go to the hospital, although they offered. The electrician who installed the generator refuses to return my phone calls, so I finally called Honeywell directly. They said they would send out someone to check the unit and the installation, but no one has responded since Thursday, August first. The unit is turned off but I am still very concerned. I have pictures of the installation but don't see a way to send them to you.
