SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260314-99DF4-2147322679. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Vizio M75-E1 (75" Vizio Black Flat Screen). Incident: We were watching tv. It shut off and there was a spark and smoke. We unplugged it and within a minute it started smoking very badly. We had to rip it off our wall and throw it in our yard and hose it down as it was on fire from the inside. It is a Vizio Home Theater Display Model M75-E1. Input 120V-60Hz 1.73 A. Part No 10262024221. Serial Number LTMAEMMT3350577. Had we not been home, this could have caught our house on fire. We are a family of 8 and children were sleeping at the time this happened, had my husband not been able to get it off the wall before it caught fire, our house would have caught fire. My husband hauled this 75" tv by himself while it was burning from the inside and chemical smoke was filling our house. We have a daughter with a heart condition that was asleep right above this. We had to leave doors open with the heat running to get the chemical smell out of our house. Additionally we have 4 animals that also could have suffered.
