SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20230809-04BC8-2147345910. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Bertazzoni Model No. PROF486GDFSXT (Professional Series 48 Inch Freestanding Dual Fuel Range with Natural Gas, 6 Sealed Brass Burners, Double Ovens, Griddle, Convection Oven, Self-Clean Oven, Continuous Grates, Viewing Window, Sealed Cooktop Burners, 19000 BTU Power Burner, Dual Convection Fans, Continuous Grates, Temperature Probe, Cast Iron Grates, Telescopic Glide Shelf, Metal Coated Knobs, Elegant Temperature Gauge, Self Cleaning, CSA Certified in Stainless Steel). The cutting of the wire certainly could have caused a short, this being a clear indication of "Faulty Wiring" and not a component failure. The second incident was when the small side oven blew up at 330 deg. F, as the unit was reaching a temperature of 350deg. F, (I place an oven thermometer in the unit, as this doesn't have one). I was standing in front of the unit, when I heard a loud rocking boom, and turned to see a bright white light in the electric oven. I immediately turned off the oven, opened the door and smoke billowed out. We had the same repairman out and he indicated it was due to the Baking Element (coil). After he removed the floor plate from the oven, you could see where the insulation was burned through to the
