Government / agencyIndexed Oct 16, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — SaferProducts.gov incident

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260531-3E5FF-2147318320. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Cuisinart CGG-180TB (Cuisinart Petite Gourmet Portable Gas Grill from Amazon product Model Number: CGG-180TB, Serial Number: CGG0625991286.. I also purchased a 4-foot Cuisinart Adapter Hose, Model Number: QG-012B LP.). Incident: I purchased a Cuisinart Petite Gourmet Portable Gas Grill from Amazon. I also purchased a 4-foot Cuisinart Adapter Hose, Model Number: QG-012B LP. I first used the two products on Monday, May 18, 2026. While grilling with a [REDACTED] brand propane tank, the connection between the hose and the grill caught on fire. I was able to stop the fire by turning off both the [REDACTED] propane tank and the Cuisinart grill. However, the fire melted the connection including the plastic heat shield on the grill and the end of the hose. Both Cuisinart products are no longer operable. I contacted Cuisinart on multiple occasions (left message on 800 customer service number, sent emails) but got no response from Cuisinart. I also contacted Amazon who did refund me the cost of the products. However, the safety hazard is still a significant issue. I think the most important thing is for your agency to investigate why this happened as it is a VERY dangerous outcome. I would like to send the hose and grill back to your agency. I also have pictures of the melted products I can send if you provide me an email address. Thank you, [REDACTED]
