I figure with your experience, you may have encountered similar situations to ours and you might know what steps we should take: What do other homeowners do when an appliance causes a fire? How do we find out if there is a recall? Where or Who or how do incidents like this get reported? Over the weekend we had an incident with our Frigidaire Electric Glass Top Stove. Basically a burner turned itself on causing a small Kitchen fire. At the time it happened, I was using the oven to bake and had several items laid out on a kitchen towel, drying on top of the stove. The towel caught fire and the plastic items melted, filling the house with smoke. It was a quite upsetting event because if I had not been in the kitchen when it happened, it could have easily spread and been a much, much worse fire. ... Yours [REDACTED]
