SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20210315-75332-3127578. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Frigidaire FFGF3047LSH (gas range). Incident: (03/08/2021) The consumer stated that her husband was baking bread in the oven. He removed the bread because it had burned. He turned the oven off. When the consumer went back into the kitchen ten minutes later, the kitchen was very warm. The oven was still on and she could not get it to go off. The consumer's husband pulled the range away from the wall and unplugged it. He found a plain envelope attached to the back that explained something about a resistant temperature detector and a F10 code. The consumer stated that there was not a code on the control panel. The plastic veneer on the cabinet next to the range melted from the heat. The consumer contacted the firm and filed a report. It seems that two different safety systems failed. "Resistance Temperature Detector" (page 1 of copy) and "Electronic Oven Control" fault codes "F10" (page 2 of copy) Should have indicated "RUNAWAY TEMPERATURE' but did not. The control panel continued to appear as if it was working in that I could turn the temperature down to the lowest level and then appear to turn the oven and broiler off. Meanwhile the orange glow emanating from the oven looked like fire. It blackened the light bulb inside the oven, melted the veneer on the cabinet and would have burned the house down if no one had remained at home.
