Government / agencyIndexed Oct 16, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — SaferProducts.gov incident

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260604-BB86F-2147317967. Severity: No Incident, No Injury. Product: Frigidaire LFEF3054TFU (Frigidaire electric range, black and stainless steel). Incident: The outer glass door to my oven spontaneously exploded. The oven had not been used in 4 days when this happened. There was a loud explosion and glass all over the floor. Reported to Frigidaire immediately and was told because the oven was 3 years old it was out of warranty I would have to pay for a new glass panel ($291 after arguing a 20% discount). I was also told that not enough reports had been made for a recall on this particular model. When I called to follow up on my repair, because I had not recieved the part when I was told, I found out that there was zero notation on my case # that said my door had spontaneously exploded. All my case # said was that the door was broken. So they are not keeping track of exploding ovens it seems. This could have been a very dangerous situation if myself or my child had been in the kitchen. I am still waiting on the repair as the part is out of stock and have been told not to use my oven until it is repaired.
