SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20111219-0BC72-2147472237. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Keurig Keurig and [REDACTED] K cup type coffee makers (Keurig K Cup platinum and [REDACTED] Coffee Maker - K cup type). Incident: My coffee maker smoked and it is too young to smoke..... I own several [REDACTED] and Keurig K cup coffee makers. [REDACTED] the coffee maker was built with a [REDACTED] internal water leak that DRIPS IN THE POWER TRANSFORMER and the air compressor pump motor internal to the coffee maker. This creates a potential fire hazard as the power transformer and air pump is getting wet and rusty. In addition to the water leak.. the pneumatic valve is not built for water internal to the valve. It is constructed of steel and produces RUST. I have photos that show the level of rust build up. This rust is returned with the overflow water and steam / water vapor back into the clean water tank for the coffee maker. I do not think drinking rust in my coffee from a degenerating and rusty control solenoid is good for my health. THIS SUCKS and I think it is unsafe. [REDACTED] Regards [REDACTED]
