Incident: I am reporting a critical and hidden electrocution hazard with a Kobe range hood (Model IN2648SQB-1200-1) The incident began when an individual with electrical experience came to install warranty replacement parts. As a safety precaution, he first unplugged the unit from the wall. Upon touching the internal components of the unplugged hood, he received a light electrical shock. He then used an electrical meter to check for current but could not detect the source of the leak, as the charge appeared to have dissipated. Believing the danger had passed, he proceeded to install the new parts. After the installation, the hood was temporarily working. My mother then attempted to unplug the hood so we could screw the final coverings back on, but her hip was touching the metal oven and she received a stronger electrical shock. It was likely because her body created a path between the energized hood and the grounded oven. I then went to unplug the hood and after successfully unplugging it, I attempted to screw the final coverings back on. The moment I touched the hood, I received a third, light electrical shock.
