Government / agencyIndexed Oct 28, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — SaferProducts.gov incident

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20240701-3286A-2147338289. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: LG Model LSEL6335XE. Source model text: SJ7-C. Incident: We heard a loud pop, then looked over to see flames coming out of the end of our LG wireless sound bar model no. SJ7-C. This sound bar has a right half and a left half, and it was the right half that had failed. The flames self-extinguished as I walked over to the unit, and then I unplugged it and carried it outside. I saw that he end had blown off, and burning debris and copper foil from inside had flown into our TV stand, onto our carpet and the wall behind our TV stand. Our carpet suffered minor burns and the TV stand around the area was coated with soot. There were no injuries other than having to breathe toxic smoke. The date on the product label is October 2017.

Electric Ranges or Ovens (Excl Counter-top Ovens) (278)

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 16, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — SaferProducts.gov incident

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260720-59C31-2147313648. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: LG Model LSEL6335XE (This is a new LG slide in smooth top electric range, it is a stainless steel faced, smooth glass burner top with large control knobs on the top of the front vertical face. It is a 30" wide x standard 24" counter depth.). Incident: We purchased a new LG kitchen package that included an electric smooth top slide in range and an over the range microwave unit. while installing the over the range microwave I placed some foam packaging strips on the stove top to rest the microwave on. The wife was helping to lower the old unit down and while leaning against the new LG stove was somehow able to turn on a back burner which started to melt the foam. We cleaned up the small mess that came with the melted foam and let the burner completely cool. The stove top was then protected with a quilted moving blanket to prevent any damage from resting the new microwave on it as we got ready to lift it in to place. The same ting happened again, the wife, she is 5'2", was leaning against the burner control knobs on the front of the range and was somehow able to turn on a burner again. This time the blanket caught fire, she pulled from the range top onto the floor and stamped out the small flames. The main floor of the house filled with smoke but no one was injured.
