Incident: We purchased a Ninja Foodi XL Pro AirFryer Oven (model DT201) in September 2023. We have followed all usage and cleaning guidelines. Last week, the unit started making loud a loud rattling/grinding noise when in use. It also does not shut off when cooking is complete or when the power button is pressed. The only way to turn it off completely is to unplug the unit. We have tried it several times and in several different settings, but the issue is the same. At this point, we have left it off and unplugged because were concerned it may start a fire. I read several reports online of other consumers having a similar issue so I contacted Ninja customer service on 6/5/25. We are outside of the one year warranty so they will not repair or replace the unit. The rep said that if we had continued use and there was damage from use (such as a fire, etc.) then replacement falls under different guidelines. The suggested repair was to buy a new base, which is an entirely new unit without the included trays.
