SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20201225-480AA-2147367243. Matched catalog product: Weber Q1200 part # 5101001. Source model text: q1200. Incident: I mistakenly started up my Weber Q1200 gas grill without opening up the plastic side tables. The side tables caught fire and melted into the grill. When I opened the lid big flames shot out. The only damage was the destruction of the grill. However it was a big fire, and, since I live in the dry hills of Oakland California it could have started a major blaze during fire season. Although the manual contains many warnings, there is no warning about this flaw.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20211115-7BF35-2147358763. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Product: Weber Q1200 part # 5101001 (Weber Q 1200 Serial Number AEO337878 Model Q1200 part # 5101001). Incident: Purchased Weber Q 1200 BBQ in May of 2020. I was barbecuing on November 10, 2021 and was just preparing to remove the meat from the grill when I heard a loud pop, then huge flames erupted. This was the second time BBQing on this propane tank. The flames were huge, and it lit my [REDACTED] sweatshirt on fire. I quickly removed my sweatshirt and fought the fire in my bra. I sprayed water from the hose, but the fire was just getting larger. I ran inside to obtain fire extinguisher and salt, and came out to an even bigger flame. Fearing it would light my house on fire, I kicked the BBQ away from the house and then used salt. Being scared and shaking, I knew I had to somehow disconnect the propane tank from the BBQ (since it was only used 1 time prior and it was a full tank). I grabbed a towel, and metal shield to block the flames and attempted to loosen the tank - causing huge flames as it separated and fell to the ground. Once that occurred, it finally started to burn out and a few more sprays with the hose put it out.
