Electric Ranges or Ovens (Excl Counter-top Ovens) (278)

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 28, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — SaferProducts.gov incident

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20230727-EDEA2-2147346164. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Whirlpool WEE510s0Fs2. Incident: We installed 330 new Whirlpool stoves (Model: WEE510S0FS2) at an apartment complex in Orlando, FL. about 40 of the cooktops turned on by themselves on separate occasions over a 2 year span. The control boards were replaced and 3 stoves had repeat issues. This is a serious life safety concern. There doesn't appear to be a recall for this specific model but there is a recall for the same issue from 2019.

Government / agencyIndexed Oct 22, 2026Source-linkedVerify source — SaferProducts.gov incident

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20250705-53A41-2147329857. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Whirlpool WEE510s0Fs2. Incident: We left home on the 4th of July 2025 and came home to a smokey chemical smell. I realized that the oven had ash all over it. I had not used it in 4 days and definitely did not burn anything. It seems that the ovens self clean setting was turned on but no one was home to have turned it on. It burned the silicone burn guard to complete ash. This is a safety hazard. Luckily nothing more happened.

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20190830-CA709-2147377979. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Whirlpool WEE510s0Fs2 (Whirpool glass top stove model: WEE510s0Fs2). Incident: My apartment has a whirlpool glass top stove, and it caught on fire in June. The apartment was built between 2018-2019. My unit was ready and brand new in April, so I have no idea when the apartment complex bought the stoves. I left my apartment for an errand that took 30 minutes and came back to a smoky apartment. I had a pizza box on the stove, and never used the stove or oven that weekend, so I know I didnt leave anything on. The glass top was destroyed, as well as the microwave above the stove and cabinets. The fire was out by the time I returned home, and the pizza box was burned to ashes. I had to have half the kitchen replaced. Luckily I was not harmed nor were my pets. I do have trauma from the event, as it was scary walking into what could have been a disaster.
