Unlocked Pixel 9 Pro XL 512GB went completely black and unresponsive immediately after an official Android update restart—no display, bootloader, or charge indicator. Two authorized repair centers confirmed no physical or water damage; Google's PC repair tool could not detect the device. Because warranty expired August 21, 2025, support insisted on paid mail-in repair despite the failure following a first-party update.

After about 18 months of normal use, a flickering green line on a Pixel 9 Pro XL became permanent. Screen and back were described as otherwise fine aside from side scratches. Google charged €315 for repair, claiming cracks/micro-scratches and chassis damage, so the green-line fix was not treated as covered warranty work.
