Hammer housing shattered in normal use

Hammer housing casting

Source-linkedVerify source — Reddit post

While driving a standard 3-inch wood screw into two 2x4s, the hammer housing on a Milwaukee M18 Compact Brushless Impact 3650-20 exploded. Indianapolis service center denied warranty, saying the failure was not defects in material or workmanship, despite the casting failing during ordinary carpentry rather than a drop or high-torque abuse.
