Owner complaint summary

The contact owns a 2019 Alfa Romeo Giulia. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V586000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle went into LIMP Mode and stalled. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was able to be restarted. The vehicle was taken to Firestone, and an oil change was performed, and the cabin air filter and water pump were replaced; however, the failure persisted, with the check engine, engine oil, and several other unknown warning lights intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the fuel pump had low pressure and needed to be replaced. The dealer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that there would be a charge for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.
