Owner complaint summary

The driverside headrest has spontaneously deployed, it is due to an internal failure where a plastic retention bracket cracks. It is a known issue for earlier model years, but 2019 has been left out of the warranty extension (2018 is the end of the current coverage period). This is the same headrest design/part that is covered for repair in earlier years, and is an $1,100 replacement. We would like this repair to be considered for the warranty coverage as it is the same issue being acknowleged and addressed for earlier model years.

This is an owner complaint filed with NHTSA (ODI #11767734). It is not automatically an official recall, investigation outcome, or manufacturer admission unless the complaint text itself describes one.
