She had not used the microwave that day as she was cooking with the oven. The consumer contacted the manufacturer who offered $85 for a replacement shield. She feels that the control panel needs replacement. The manufacturer told her that because she has tiles in her kitchen it generated the heat with melted the panel which she cannot believe. She says this model was made to be vented which she does not know if it is a reason for unit melting on the inside. The consumer would just like the panel be replaced.
