Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20111030-2D11C-2147473811. Matched catalog product: Cuisinart DGB 700. Source model text: DGB-700CRF. Incident: Over the past 6 months I have had two carafes to the Cuisnart DGB-700CRF crack without physical trauma. The inciting event seems to be a mild difference in temperature. Prior to the last carafe cracking, I merely wiped some spilled coffee from the hot plate before replacing the carafe on the plate, I contacted the Cuisinart customer service representative who stated that the carafes are made with tempered glass. She denied any knowledge of other consumers having this type of problem or to replace these units. SHe also reported that Cuisinart does not warrant the carafes.
