Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20111102-203E2-2147473699. Matched catalog product: Kenmore Kenmore model no. 790.80323310. Source model text: 790. Incident: While cooking bread in the oven with tthe temp. of 350 degrees, My oven door exploded. I heard a loud pop and glass shot out and shattered everywhere. I looked on the computer and noticed that this was a common problem with the Sears ranges. I called the local Sears and the manager told me I needed to call the Customer Solutions. I called them and they told me that there was no recall on the product so they could do nothing for me. I purchased the range September of 2010. The warranty just ran out about 3 weeks ago. I did not purchase a warranty because I believed in their product. I purchased this range to replace one that I had for 13 years. and we were changing the kitchen to stainless appliances. My old Kenmore range worked perfect when I sold it last year. Sears said it was not their problem. I am thankful that my children were not in the kitchen when this happened. Sears needs to recall this oven.
