Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20111128-A5195-2147472934. Severity: Injury, First Aid Received by Non-Medical Professional. Matched catalog product: Hamilton Beach Griddle Model# 38518R, Power Adapter Model# ZL203. Source model text: 24600. Incident: Hamilton beach 24600 4 slice toaster. The toaster has burned things, smoked and sparked for several months. Lowering the settings did little to resolve this issue. My 13 year old was burned while trying to remove her toast. I contacted Hamilton beach and they said this model was not recalled but they could send me out the same toaster for $19.95 shipping. I would rather buy a new roster than have the same problems again. I think this toaster has the same issues as the recalled two slice version, 22600.
