Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20111224-9F422-2147472087. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Whirlpool Model #wrf767sdhz 26.8 cu ft 3 door French door re. Source model text: Accubake Couble Wall Oven. Incident: I didn't realize that I have an oven that had a safety recall back in 2004. Last night, I decided to use the self-clean feature. The oven and control panel both shut off during the cycle. The oven is now cooled but the door is locked and the control panel is still off. After researching the issue, I discovered that this is a well-known issue with these ovens and that some have had the glass explode during the self-clean cycle. I also learned that they may have faulty wiring, posing a fire hazard.
