Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20120111-0EE10-2147471441. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Matched catalog product: Shark S3501. Incident: I bought my Shark Steam Mop about a year ago. It's worked great every time until today. I plugged in the mop and began pumping to start up the steam, just like the manual says. The mop started to steam so I began cleaning my floors. Then the mop stopped steaming, so I stopped cleaning and began pumping again. All of a sudden, the mop made a loud popping noise and hot water burst from the seams of the water tank, burning my legs. I immediately unplugged it and went on-line to find out that this seems to be a common problem.
