SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20120116-B7E6A-2147471287. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Sears Sears Kenmore Elite Washer Model #11031633611. Source model text: 665.16269400. Incident: We came home to smoke and a burned wiring and plastic smell. We went in the kitched to find that the upper panel, where the control buttons are, had the plastic melted. We unplugged it. On the weekend, we unscrewed the panel access to find the control panel completely burned. It burned so hot that it melted the plastic. Sears has known about this problem and has not sent out notices. We are lucky our house didn't burn.
