Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20120208-6052B-2147470439. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Kenmore 95014102. Source model text: Model #665.95014102. Incident: While baking in oven, items caught on fire (full flames). Blamed wife for using wrong temp. A week later, while baking cupcakes the same thing happened. The food erupted in flames. Upon extinguishing the fire, I observed that the broiler element was red hot. Was unable to turn it off using the controls. Had to trip the circuit breaker to turn stove broiler off. When circuit breaker was turned back on, the broiler element also came on, even thought the controls indicated it was not on.
