Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20120305-FD653-2147469558. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Cuisinart CCO-50BKN Deluxe Electric Can Opener. Source model text: DCC-1200BW. Incident: We have a Cuisinart DCC-1200 coffee-maker that briefly after brewing the coffee started to produce a lot of smoke. There was a growing smell of plastic burning and fortunately my 5-yr old daughter caught it before we left the house. I immediately unplugged it from the outlet. I'm happy my house did not burn down, and sad to know that this happened to so many other people as I can see reported here without any serious action being taken against removing this product from the market. Unfortunately, it will take somebody's house to burn down first it seems.
