Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20120311-0EE5D-2147469375. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Shark S3501. Source model text: Shark steam mop M# S3501W. Incident: I wanted to clean my kitchen floor with my Shark Steam Pocket Mop but i could not get it to produce any steam. I sat down on the floor to look it over and the cleaning head literally blew off, the mop flew across my kitchen and I was 'doused' with steam. I was not scalded and my husband and my 18 month old, who was also in the kitchen, was not hit by the mop or the steam THANK GOODNESS! It just startled all both pretty bad! When I looked at the tip of the mop it was gnarled and the plastic was bubbled and melted and the whole unit was EXTREMELY hot!
