SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20120404-0F230-1241776. Matched catalog product: Whirlpool Model #wrf767sdhz 26.8 cu ft 3 door French door re. Source model text: RBS245PDB10. Incident: On February 17, 2012, my wife was baking a cake in a Whirlpool 24" Built-in Oven, Model Number: RBS245PDB10, Serial Number: XK5101063, Purchased at Sears in Auburn, Massachusetts on January 23, 2001. About 30 minutes into the cooking cycle, my wife, who was in the kitchen, heard the oven click and lock the door into the auto clean cycle, without my wife touching anything. The temperature in the oven kept rising and the cake caught fire. The fire department pulled the oven fuse and forced the oven door open to remove the smoking cake pan. There was no physical damage to my home other than the odor of smoke for a few days.
