Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20120830-A260A-2147464250. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Master Forge GD4825. Incident: My brand new grill caught my deck handrail on fire. This grill was placed in the same location as my old grill on my deck. The heat that came out the backside of the grill was unbelievable. Luckily the handrail was just smoldering when I went to check on the steaks and I was able to put it out with a garden hose. I went back to their manual and it states that the grill needs a minimum clearance of 36" from combustible constructions to the sides and back of the grill. How many people have over a 3' clearance? This is like an open flame hanging over a propane tank.
