Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20121017-90BCC-2147462760. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Frigidaire Model # FFHS2611LW. Source model text: FES 355 EBB. Incident: I purchased a Frigidaire Slide-In range from Lowe's in Jan. of 2007. Model number FES 355 EBB. The serial number is NF64721744. I know my appliance is out of warranty, however it doesn't resolve the fact that the oven control wiring harness caught on fire while pre-heating the oven. Thankfully we were here to take care of the problem before it set the house on fire. I contacted Frigidaire through their website. A [REDACTED], Correspondence Specialist, e-mailed me back and stated that the product was out of warranty, there were no recalls, they were under no obligation to remedy, and I could have it repaired at my expense. This is more than a light going out. This is a very serious issue with their products. After researching other forums, and yours included, this appears to be an ongoing problem with this company. Please get these products off the market and force Frigidaire to make refunds for selling products this dangerous.
