Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20121028-9C97E-2147462428. Matched catalog product: Frigidaire PLES399ECD. Source model text: PLES399EC. Incident: We have a Frigidaire Range we purchased approx. 4 years ago. The Range was turned off and we had a heavy glass 8 cup measuring cup with tea sitting on the range. The range had not been used that evening. My husband and I were sitting on the outside porch when we heard a loud crashing sound. Our 11 year old son had just walked in and we thought he broke a dish. When we went in to investigate, we learned the glass measuring cup had exploded just seconds after our son passed by it. The glass blew all over the kitchen, dining room, and family room.
