Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20121104-EF8DB-2147462230. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Matched catalog product: Kenmore 795-77314-6000. Source model text: 795.77552600. Incident: Lights inside the refrigerator no longer go off when the door is closed. The heat from the bulbs melted the plastic housing around the bulbs and the bulb sockets are scorched black. Luckily we noticed the problem this morning before leaving for the day and removed the bulbs so the heat/melting problem is eliminated. This is a definite fire hazard as had the melting continued the wiring could have melted causing an electrical fire. Burned my hands a couple times on the housing while removing the bulbs.
