Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20130412-FBE0E-2147457032. Matched catalog product: Mr. Coffee 14-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker BVMC-PC14BL2. Source model text: BVMC ECM 260. Incident: I turned on my new Mr. Coffee Espresso maker model #BVMC ECM260 this AM. This first cup went fine. I started a second cup about 30-60 minutes later. The steam started coming out, then the whole thing blew up - the basket blew off (it WAS on all the way), the pot smashed and hot coffee, coffee grounds (wet of course) and glass plastered my kitchen cabinets, and everything that was on them, broke 2 vases, and covered my floors and walls with coffee grounds and glass.
