Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20130601-3E75C-2147455601. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Matched catalog product: Kenmore 795-77314-6000. Source model text: 795.77542600. Incident: We have a Sears Model 795.77542600 refrigerator Serial number 702KR0090. This morning my wife opened the door and when she reached into the refrigerator the light cover fell off and burned her arm. The lamps were very hot and appear to have been on for a long time. The light socket and cover are melted and look burned. I removed the light bulbs before a fire started. I contacted sears on line tech support and talked with a fellow who said that there is no recall on the unit and it is out of warranty by nearly a year. He tried very hard to sell me an extended warranty. I decided not to repair the refrigerator at this time. I'm just glad it didn't catch on fire!
