Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20130805-E0E07-2147453409. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Whirlpool Model #wrf767sdhz 26.8 cu ft 3 door French door re. Source model text: WMH76718AB. Incident: On numerous occasions when using this microwave the unit fills with steam, unable to see inside the microwave through door due to condensation on glass. When microwave door is opened steam billows out. Condensation covers the glass and inside unit walls andfloor are covered, in one case it puddled in the corner of the unit. Danger due to the steam coming out of the unit when door is opened. There appears to be no venting of the heat/steam from inside the microwave. Someone is going to get hurt. I contacted whirlpool 4 times and had two warranty repair technicians come out. Both technicians said the unit is operating as designed, but had an "excessive" amount of steam buildup. Both stated they would not buy this unit. Whirlpool said it is operating normally and should have this buildup inside when cooking. I have a video I would like to share. I am going to try to get Home Depot to take the unit back, but I think it is important that this be reported.
